PV Cliffs

Monday, April 26, 2010 | |

As you might have guessed. I have a thing with photographing flowers. Not just any ol' flowers in a vase. I like to go out and find true wildflowers. This time of year, the hills are just filled with the color of the great California wildflowers. Here is a great patch of vibrant yellow flowers I found on my hike thru the PV Cliffs.

This is just some messing around in Photoshop

Dog Walk

Saturday, April 24, 2010 | |

Around the corner from my house i a secret spot I like to walk my dog Bodie. It's a secluded area next to the LA River. I can let him off the leash so he can run around and chase the squirrels and rabbits that pop out of the bushes every once in a while. Also, this time of year it gets some cool flowers.

Joshua Tree National Park.!

Thanks to my endeavor into the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Training Course they provide, i discovered Joshua Tree National Park. This place is amazing. Boulders the size of houses just calling for you to climb to the top of them. My last trip there was in April and the Spring wild flowers were in full bloom. At this point I am just getting to know my camera better. I have a Nikon D80 and just getting to know how to use it in fully manual mode. I am hoping the pictures get better as time goes. Bear with me for now.

Just the Beginnig

OK, so I am trying something new here. Through much encouragement from my wife (who has a couple of great blogs herself: Life or Something Like It and Everyday + You) I am going to start a photography blog. Photography has become some what a new passion of mine. Every since I was young, photography has always intrigued me. I would love looking over pictures and taking in the story they tell. Well, i figured that now is the time to chase my passion. I have been looking for some good photography classes to take but haven't found one that fits me yet. i have even considered going back to school to get my AA in photography. But it all has to start somewhere and this is the beginning. I hope you enjoy.
