What is a Parallax? (About Me)

| |

Merriam Websters defines Parallax as the apparent displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points.

In photography a parallax occurs when you look through the view finder and position your subject a certain way, yet the subject looks positioned differently in the picture due to the different locations of the view finder and the lens.

I want my photography to be a PARALLAX of what you see. It is the Parallax of Michael B.

Photography started as a hobby for me but has turned into a passion. I have read every book I have been able to get my hands on about lighting, exposure, and composition. Initially, I wanted to take pictures because I wanted to share what I see and the places I have been with everyone. Then I started driving myself to learn more and get more creative. My first love is landscape photography. I love to travel to far off places (especially the Sierra Nevada's), take in all that I see and put it in a photo. However, recently I have started enjoying photographing people, especially children. Children live for the moment, not worried about what's to come tomorrow and I like to portray that innocence in my pictures.

So take a look and I hope you enjoy what you see. Don't be afraid to leave a comment and contact me with any questions you may have.

Enjoy!
