The Great Pumpkin Festival

Thursday, October 21, 2010

First off, sorry for not putting up a post in a while. Thanks to a certain little friend (see here) my hard drive took a dump and needed to be replaced. Thanks to the helpful customer service at Dell I was able to get it replaced in no time and I am back in business.

Being an Alumni of Cal Poly Pomona, I receive newsletters every once in a while and I saw they were having a pumpkin festival. When I was going to school there, I remember seeing the field full of pumpkins but never made it out to the festival. I was totally surprised by festivities that were put on by the Agricultural Dept. of Cal Poly. It was a great time and of course there were tons of pumpkins!

And Lastly, here is a Panoramic of the Pumpkin Field. It was really cool to see. Being in crowded Southern California where land is precious, a sight like this is not seen very often.

Little Jordyn in the Pumpkin Patch

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Baby Jordyn is turning 1, and what is really cool, she is a Halloween Baby! Every year she is going to gets to have a costume party birthday. How awesome is that! To prepare for her 1st birthday party, her parents, Christina + Joey wanted to get some pumpkin shots of thier pumpkin. So we headed to the local pumpkin patch and and had a blast. She made my first kid shot a piece of cake. All we had to do was sit her down and she started hamming it up!

Why we live in So Cal

Sunday, October 3, 2010

OK, anyone else confused with the weather we had this past week? We have one of the hottest days on record followed by hot, muggy heat that makes me wonder if this suddenly became Florida. One good thing about this strange fall weather (yes fall, not summer!) is that it has made for some awesome sunsets. So, Friday evening I packed up my camera gear and headed to Redondo Beach to capture the setting sun. I started shooting with the sun still a bit above the horizon and continued well after the street lights came on and realized why we live in Southern California.

Sweet Setups!

So...I must have done a decent job with her Maternity Photo's because Nea asked me to take shots of her table set-up at her Baby Shower. She is in the business of creating awesome table set-ups for all occasions. You can see some her work at her blog Love Bug Buzz. I know she probably wants to put the pictures on her website to show off her setup. But I just had to show off a little bit of her work.

The Ghost Town called Calico

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

On the way back from a fantastic, much needed, poolside relaxing get-away to Las Vegas. My wife and I decided to stop into the Ghost Town of Calico. If you have made the drive to Vegas before, I am sure you have seen the sign. Calico is an old mining town that is just north of Barstow, tucked away the vibrant desert hills.

Nea & Ed Maternity Shoot

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Like I have said numerous times in my posts, I am just getting into photography and the thing I have the least experience with is shooting people. Well, I was approached recently by very good friends of my wife and I who wanted to record a special moment in their lives..

Nea and Ed aren't just expecting, they are expecting times 3. Yes, triplets, 3 little boys. It was an honor to have them ask me to shoot this special time and let me get my first photo shoot under my belt.
